Dairy Dan Drive-In has been serving up oversized soft serve ice cream cones and fan-favorite milkshakes (in dozens of flavors) for generations, but don’t sleep on their delectable burger offerings.

I chose their 1/4 LB Cheeseburger with the works: American cheese, iceberg lettuce, dill pickles, sliced onion, sliced tomato, and special sauce on a sesame seed bun. 

1 Aesthetics — Just look at that burger! It says “bite me.” 7

2 Flavor — Fair. 6

3 Mouthfeel — The meat was a tad overcooked. 6

4 Quality/Freshness — Above average quality overall, however, the tomato was unripened. 6.5

5 Integrity — Good structure; held together well. Bonus point for a patty and tomato slice large enough to reach the perimeter of the bun. Demerit for chopped, rather than whole leaf, lettuce. 7

6 Atmosphere — Charming and family friendly. 6

7 Service — Good. The young lady at the counter seemed a tad distracted, but was friendly enough, and my burger arrived promptly. 7

8 Satisfaction — I was fairly satisfied. Next time I’ll try the 1/2 LB Bearcat Burger! 6.5

9 Creativity/Uniqueness — No surprises. 6

10 Value — At 8 bones, a decent deal. 7

A worthwhile respite for folks who love classic American fare. Recommended.
