For over 30 years Betty’s Place has served up “Best of Lewis County” award-winning burgers on the site of a former gas station. They also serve fish and chips, chicken strips, crinkle-cut fries, deep fried green beans, mac and cheese, mini corn dogs, and soft-serve ice cream.
I tried The Jalapeño Burger dressed with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, and sliced jalapeño peppers, on a traditional toasted bun.
1 Aesthetics — Looks delicious! 7.0
2 Flavor — Smokey and savory, with just a hint of spice. 7.0
3 Mouthfeel — Not bad! Crispier veggies and a higher quality bun would plus this up a bit. 6.5
4 Quality/Freshness — Good quality, fairly fresh, and made to order! 7.0
5 Integrity — Solid and sturdy, all except for the renegade shredded lettuce. Why, oh why? Full leaf lettuce or none at all! 7.5
6 Atmosphere — Simple and relatively clean, otherwise, not much of an ambience. 6.0
7 Service — Average. 5.5
8 Satisfaction — I enjoyed it! 7.0
9 Creativity/Uniqueness — No secret ingredients. I do love the combination of pepper jack cheese and jalapeño peppers. 6.0
10 Value — $8.75 is a good value. 7.5
Friendly service, good food, fair price, no fuss. I’ll be back! Recommended.
